Shelly-Ann Whitely-Clarke

Shelly-Ann Whitely-ClarkeDr Shelly-Ann Whitely-Clarke is a champion of GULL’s work in the Caribbean region. The eldest of six children, she is a graduate of Hampton High school, Jamaica, the University of the West Indies (Bachelor of Science degree with First Class Honours), Nova Southwestern University (Masters of Science degree in Human Resources). Shelly holds a Doctor of Management degree from GULL and an honorary Doctor of Professional Studies degree for her contribution to leadership development. Shelly-Ann’s professional career began at the Dragon Bay Beach Resort, Portland, Jamaica where she was Assistant Manager and later General Manager. In 2002 she joined Sandals Resorts International as Training Manager, Beaches Boscobel Resort and Golf Club and in 2004, transferred to Beaches Turks and Caicos (BTC) Resort and Spa where she is currently the Regional Training and Development Manager.

Shelly-Ann is a passionate advocate of action learning and her vision enables team members at BTC to benefit from workplace learning. Shelly Ann’s nomination as Ambassador reflects the commitment and outcomes of her work with GULL. The results are remarkable – all her learners complete their work and during review meetings, most attribute their enhanced self-belief and confidence to Shelly-Ann’s ability to inspire them to take personal responsibility for lifelong learning.
