Norma E Taylor

Norma E TaylorDr Norma E Taylor is National President, Jamaica, Global University for Lifelong Learning, based in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Norma is currently the Island-wide Meet-the-People Coordinator for the Jamaica Tourist Board. After attending completing post-graduate teacher training, Norma started her career as a teacher at Mt. Alvernia and St. James High schools in Montego Bay. She then joined the Jamaica Tourist Board as Public Relations Officer with responsibility for the western region. During her many years with the organization, she has been involved in project management, administration, and sales and marketing and recently taught tourism marketing to first year students at the University of the West Indies. Norma is closely involved in church and community activities, and has been a member of several school boards. She is also a Justice of the Peace, and Lay Magistrate in the Parish of St. James, Jamaica, serving in these roles since 1996.

Norma's plan for GULL in Jamaica is linked to her doctoral work with GULL: "I truly believe that GULL has an important part to play in nation building. It caters to everyone and especially to the many who have limited on no access to formal education and the process helps them to determine how they might be better citizens - motivated and committed to making a difference in their own communities and/or workplace."
